A silent movie comedy project done for an Interdisciplinary photography class at Photo Center Northwest. The project was to respond to a serious and dramatic piece, Three Places in New England by American composer Charles Ives (1874-1954). Ives was known as a maverick composer and "American Original." His music is difficult to describe without quoting Wikipedia or better yet, www.charlesives.org, but let's say he was ahead of his time. His music sounded very dramatic to me, so I took the opportunity to quickly make a silent comedy about a housewife whose butler has left her with no idea what to make for dinner, so she tries her hand at toast. It's a silly little film that I'd love to redo one day using a better set, better costumes and better actress!
